Refund policy.

Last updated:

TL;DR

14-day money-back guarantee on your first purchase. Email hello@trueplugins.com with your order ID and we'll process it via Stripe.

Renewals aren't refundable — you used the plugin for a year and chose to keep it. Chargebacks before talking to us first mean immediate license deactivation. Real refunds are easy; we just want a conversation first.

Who can request a refund

You can request a refund if all of the following are true:

  • You're the original buyer (the email on the order)
  • You're requesting within 14 days of the original purchase date
  • This is a first purchase, not a renewal of an existing subscription

If something doesn't fit those criteria but you still feel a refund is fair, email us anyway. We handle edge cases case-by-case rather than hiding behind policy.

How to request a refund

Email hello@trueplugins.com with:

  • The email address on the order
  • The order ID from your purchase receipt
  • A short note on what didn't work — this is mostly so we can improve the product, not a hurdle

We respond within 24 hours during European business hours. Approved refunds process through Stripe and reach your original payment method in 5-10 business days, depending on your bank.

What gets refunded

Your first purchase, within 14 days

Full amount, no friction. Two weeks is enough to install the plugin against your real WordPress site, run the commands you actually wanted, and decide.

Cases where the plugin genuinely didn't work

If TrueCommander breaks in your environment and we can't fix it within a reasonable time, we refund. "Reasonable" depends on the issue — a quick CSS conflict gets a same-week fix; a deeper architectural incompatibility gets a refund instead.

Material misrepresentation

If we say on the marketing site that TrueCommander does X and it doesn't actually do X, that's on us. Refund issued.

What doesn't

Renewals

Subscriptions auto-renew unless you turn it off. If your renewal charges and you forgot to cancel, we won't refund — but we will turn off auto-renewal so it doesn't happen next year, and you keep access for the rest of the term you paid for. Set a calendar reminder a week before renewal if forgetting is the pattern.

Purchases older than 14 days

The window starts on the day of purchase, not on the day you got around to installing.

Repeat refund patterns

We trust customers. A pattern of buy-refund-buy-refund signals the relationship isn't working; at that point we'll decline future refunds and may decline future purchases too. One-off changes of heart are fine.

Refunds tied to Terms violations

If your license was deactivated for a Terms of Service breach (redistribution, license-check bypass, etc.) the underlying purchase isn't refundable. See the Terms for what counts.

What happens after we refund

When we process your refund:

  • Stripe issues the refund to your original payment method — 5-10 business days depending on your bank
  • Your license key is deactivated; the plugin stops validating on your sites
  • Any active subscription tied to that purchase is cancelled
  • Your account stays open in case you come back later. To delete the account too, do it yourself from my.trueplugins.com/dashboard/account

AI credits you've already used aren't deducted from the refund amount — you bought a license tier, not pre-paid credits.

Partial refunds

Generally we don't do partial refunds. Either the purchase worked for you and you keep it, or it didn't and we refund the full amount.

The exception is service issues — a bug we couldn't fix in your specific environment, or an outage that materially affected your AI usage during the term. In those cases we work out a fair partial refund or service credit, case by case.

EU consumer rights

If you're an EU consumer (buying for personal use, not on behalf of a business), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive.

That right does not apply automatically to digital content delivered immediately on purchase. At checkout we ask you to confirm you want immediate access to the plugin — confirming waives the 14-day withdrawal right, because you've started using what you bought (Consumer Rights Directive, Article 16(m)).

This waiver doesn't shrink your other consumer rights, and it doesn't replace our 14-day money-back guarantee. The guarantee is more generous than the 14-day right and applies to consumers and businesses alike.

Chargebacks

If you dispute a charge through your bank without contacting us first, we'll:

  • Deactivate the license immediately — the plugin stops working on your sites
  • Provide Stripe with our records of the transaction
  • Potentially block your account from future purchases

Chargebacks cost us time and money even when we win them. If something's wrong, email hello@trueplugins.com first — we're easier to talk to than your bank's dispute process, and the outcome is usually faster too.
