Terms of service.

TL;DR

Buy a TrueCommander license, install it on the number of sites your tier covers, use it however you want for legitimate WordPress admin work.

Don't redistribute it, don't claim you wrote it, don't try to bypass the license check. We'll keep shipping updates and answering tickets for as long as your subscription is active. If something here feels off, email us before you click Pay.

Who you're agreeing with

These Terms cover any use of TrueCommander, this website (trueplugins.com), and the customer portal (my.trueplugins.com). The other party is TruePlugins, operating from Lithuania (European Union).

By creating an account or completing a purchase you confirm you're at least 16 years old and have the authority to bind whichever entity you're representing — yourself, your company, or your client.

For anything in this document, email hello@trueplugins.com.

What you get

When you complete a purchase, you get:

  • A license key for your tier (Single Site = 1 activation, Agency = up to 25 activations)
  • The right to download the latest plugin version from the customer portal
  • Updates for the duration of your subscription
  • Support via email and the ticket system for the duration of your subscription

What you don't get:

  • A perpetual license. If your subscription expires, the plugin keeps working but updates and support stop.
  • SCM access. The plugin ships as readable PHP and JS (no obfuscation), but you don't get a Git repository.
  • Uptime guarantees on third-party integrations. If OpenAI changes its API or Stripe changes its checkout, that's outside our direct control. We'll adapt as fast as we can.

Your account

You're responsible for keeping your TruePlugins account secure. That means: don't share your password, turn on two-factor authentication, and tell us right away if you think someone else has accessed your account.

You're responsible for anything done from your account — purchases, license activations, AI command usage, support tickets. If your account is compromised and incurs charges (for example, unauthorised AI usage that drains credits), we'll work with you in good faith to put it right, but the legal liability sits with you.

License grant

Subject to these Terms, you get a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to install and use TrueCommander on the number of WordPress sites covered by your tier.

A site counts as an "active activation" when the plugin is installed, the license has validated against the domain, and our server has seen a daily check-in within the past 14 days. Deactivating a site from the customer portal frees its slot immediately.

The license is tied to your TruePlugins account, not to any specific WordPress site. If you sell a site, the license stays with you — the new owner needs their own.

What you can't do

These are the bright lines. Crossing one means we suspend or terminate your access.

No redistribution

Don't sell, give away, mirror, or share TrueCommander or any license key with people who didn't pay for it. Each license is for the account that bought it.

No bypassing the license check

The plugin validates against our server with cryptographically-signed responses. Tampering with the cached license, patching the validator, or impersonating the signing server is a hard violation.

No abusive use

Don't use TrueCommander for illegal purposes, harassment, malware delivery, or to violate someone else's rights. Don't use AI commands to generate content that violates OpenAI's usage policies — illegal content, hate, harassment, and so on — those policies apply to your prompts.

No system abuse

Don't use the contact form, support tickets, AI commands, or any other endpoint to spam, scrape, or attempt to exhaust our resources. Rate limits exist; respect them.

Coordinated disclosure

If you spot a security issue in TrueCommander itself, email hello@trueplugins.com before disclosing publicly. We'll work with you on a coordinated timeline and credit you in the changelog if you want.

Subscription and renewal

TrueCommander is sold as an annual subscription. Prices on the marketing site are in USD; Stripe converts at checkout based on your location.

Subscriptions auto-renew on the anniversary of your purchase, charged to the payment method you used at checkout. You can:

  • Turn off auto-renewal anytime from the customer portal. Your subscription keeps working until the end of the current term, then expires.
  • Cancel and request a refund within the first 14 days — see the Refund Policy.
  • Resume a cancelled subscription before it expires by toggling auto-renew back on, no resubscription needed.

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe retries up to four times across the following two to three weeks. After the last failed retry, the subscription expires and the plugin moves into "no updates" mode (it keeps working, just stops getting updates).

AI commands

When you run an AI command from inside the plugin, your prompt is sent to OpenAI for processing and the reply comes back through our server to your plugin. We don't store the prompt or the AI's reply. See the Privacy Policy for what we do log.

Each tier comes with a monthly AI credit allowance:

  • Single Site: 100 credits per month
  • Agency: 500 credits per month

Credits reset on the anniversary day of your purchase. They don't roll over. If you run out, AI commands return an "out of credits" error until the next reset; the rest of the plugin keeps working.

OpenAI's own usage policies apply to your prompts. We may suspend AI access on a license if we detect activity that violates OpenAI's policies, or if usage suggests credential theft (a Single Site license suddenly burning credits at Agency rates from a new domain, for example).

Updates and support

Updates ship as we cut them — bug fixes, security patches, new features. Your installation checks for updates daily and surfaces them in your WordPress admin; the actual update click is yours.

Support is delivered via email and the ticket system at my.trueplugins.com. We don't publish a hard SLA, but our median response time is well under 24 hours during European business hours and under 72 hours overall. Security issues skip the queue.

We don't currently provide:

  • One-on-one implementation consulting for your specific WordPress setup beyond getting TrueCommander itself working
  • Custom development against TrueCommander on a paid basis (we may offer this separately later)
  • Phone support

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access if:

  • You materially breach these Terms (the "What you can't do" list is the main one)
  • A chargeback is initiated against your purchase without contacting us first — see the Refund Policy
  • A regulatory authority requires us to (we'll tell you when legally permitted)

Suspension is reversible if the cause is fixed. Termination is final. In either case your data export at my.trueplugins.com/dashboard/account stays available for 30 days after the action so you can take what's yours.

You can terminate by deleting your account anytime from the customer portal — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data when you do.

Refunds

See the Refund Policy. It's a separate document so updates to either one don't drag the other along.

Warranty and liability

TrueCommander is provided "as is". We don't warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude any warranty not expressly granted in these Terms.

Our total liability to you under or in connection with these Terms — whether in contract, tort, or otherwise — is capped at the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages (lost profits, lost data, business interruption).

None of the above overrides your rights under mandatory consumer protection law in your jurisdiction. EU consumers retain their rights under the Consumer Rights Directive and national implementations regardless of what this section says.

Changes to these terms

We update these Terms when our practices change. The "Last updated" date at the top is authoritative.

For material changes — new fees, new restrictions, anything that meaningfully changes what you agreed to — we email active accounts at least 30 days before they take effect. If you don't accept the changes, you can cancel and request a pro-rata refund of the unused portion of your subscription.

We do not retroactively apply new restrictions to behaviour that was permitted under the version of these Terms you agreed to.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Lithuania, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes go to the courts of Vilnius, Lithuania — except where EU or national consumer protection law gives you the right to bring action in your local courts, in which case those rights are preserved.

Questions about these terms?

If something in here is unclear, ask before you click Pay. We'd rather have the conversation upfront than untangle a misunderstanding later.
